Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief

I went to see the Percy Jackson film at the weekend, the one that we have the review about below. This is a great action film for children and I think the special effects are very clever. If you know anything about Greek Myths, then you will know what is hidden beneath Medusa's turban!! I'm not going to spoil the surprise, but let me tell you it looks soooooo real!!
Percy goes on a quest to save the world, and as son of a Greek God, the adventures he has are beyond reality, and the half man, half beast characters are totally believable. If you haven't been to see it, then watch out for the DVD when it comes out. You never know we might even show it in school!

6R showcase Japan!!

Hi 6R

I thought your assembly on Friday was great. I was really impressed at your knowledge about Japan, you certainly know more then me!! I also really liked the way you presented yourselves, it was slick and very clear, I could tell you were in year 6!! I spoke to lots of parents that were watching, and they really enjoyed it to. Mr Heard, your link Governor, told me that he has visited Japan a couple of times, and was really impressed with your knowledge and the way you spoke the language.
Well done 6R I am proud of you!!

best wishes

What do you do in your Independence Time?

Independence Time is a great time to learn new things, or practise skills on your own or with friends. If you find something difficult, why not get a buddy to help you? You could look at your Digital Excellence records and go for gold, or just have a relaxing read in the morning.

Think about it before you get to school.... What are you going to spend your time doing?

Be aware... Mrs Seymour and Mrs Smith may be around to ask you what you're doing with your time... Don't be wasting it!

Mrs Smith comments...

I am so impressed with the fantastic paintings year 6 have done in a Japanese style. Did you know we had a link with a school in Japan? Well we have and year 6 have been finding out more. We had some great origami sent to us from our link school along with Christmas cards. We are learning a Little Japanese!

Good to see we really are 'a learning community' have you seen the pictures of the staff having Spanish lessons after school? (In their own time too without being paid...) Well done to all of you!!
